Lava flow mine fc9/12/2023 Due to how stamina works as it decreases experience also decreases by a small amount when stamina is between 1-99%. Because stamina increases damage it also increases the experience earned by a proportional amount. Stamina increases the damage per swing that is done to the rock based upon the percent stamina remaining. At any point you can click the rock to increase the stamina back to 100%. Clicking on a rock to mine it will increase the stamina to 100%.įor each swing after the stamina is decreased by 10% down to a possible 0%. Upon reaching level 15 Mining, Energetic Mining or Stamina, is unlocked. The chance of a critical hit is based upon the rock type and mining level and can be seen in this table. These hits deal additional damage based on the players mining level not rock type. Occasionally, while mining, a player will deal a critical hit. If this happens no damage is done to the rock and the game gives a message stating "Your weak pickaxe is unable to chip away at the rock". If the player uses a low level pickaxe on a higher level rock it is possible that the damage calculation could be zero or negative. In this circumstance the hardness of the rock decreases total damage done by the pickaxe by 25. If the player was to use an Adamant pickaxe, with a penetration value of 50 instead, on Runite ore the calculation would come up with negative damage (50-75= -25). If the Dragon pickaxe was used on Drakolith which has a hardness of 105 (105-105=0) there would be no additional damage. In this case the penetration is higher than the rock hardness so the pickaxe dose an additional 30 damage. For instance a Dragon pickaxe has a penetration of 105 and Runite ore has a hardness of 75 (105-75= 30). To calculate the portion of the damage in relation to hardness and penetration first step is subtracting the hardness of rock from the penetration level. Each pickaxe has a penetration level that is used to counteract the hardness level of a rock. For a list of pickaxes and their damage see the Pickaxe table.Įach rock has a hardness level which acts as a reduction to the amount of damage done to a rock. On each swing of the pickaxe an amount of damage, within the range of the pickaxe, is randomly chosen and used to calculate damage. For the players strength level only 1/10 is added as damage, so 50 strength would add 5 damage to the swing (strength level/10 then rounded down to nearest whole number).Įach pickaxe has a damage range, for example, a Bronze pickaxe has a damage range of 3-8 but a Dragon pickaxe has a damage range of 33-93. The picture below has an example of the process (click the image to open the animation).ĭamage done to a rock is based on multiple things including: mining level, strength level, pickaxe, penetration level, hardness of the rock, and potentially critical bonus damage.įor each swing of the players mining level is added to the damage, for instance 50 mining adds 50 damage to the swing. When the whole bar turns light blue it means that 100% damage has been done and the ore is given to the player. The light blue is the total amount of damage done to a rock. Initially the bar will be dark blue but as damage is done it turns to a light blue. While mining a bar will appear above the players head. Each ore has a specific durability required to gain an ore these levels are listed in the Rocks table. Once the durability hits zero the player gets the ore. This damage is takenĪway from the durability of the rock. Every time the pickaxe hits the rock it causes damage. Durability is the amount of damage that needs to be done to a rock for the player to gain an ore.ĭurability works in a similar fashion to how hit points work for monsters. Temporary level boosts and Quest rewardsĮach rock type in Runescape has a durability level.Rockertunities, Critical hits, and Double ore.
