Fallen enchantress9/13/2023 ![]() Heroes never get obscenely overpowered either. The controls just don't feel right (especially trying to force character to move in specific patterns before attacking). That said, I -hate- the combat in the game. FE:LE on the other hand, has a tax slider. It gives you a much deeper sense of strategy and complexity. Your cities are much more flexible with being able to allocate citizens for bonus resource in key areas while also tweaking your overall "policy" for the next 20 turns (like shifting gears from research/economy to pure military to blitz-kreig a rival). but there are a few things in EL that I liked better. Thanks for the feedback, I have decided to go with EL, after much swaying back and forth, and probing other forums, though FE:LH is on my short list, and I may just end up buying it really quickly anyway. It has a better, deeper (somewhat Civ-like) economy/empire management than FE:LH. Originally posted by Raydell:For a Civ fan, I'd say EL should be a lot more interesting. But like I said, until bugs are fixed, I wouldn't recommend it. FE:LH feels a little light on content by default, but it appears to have a decent scope for improvement with mods. PS: I haven't tried any mods for these games yet. ![]() Stardock also made a new game in this fantasy strategy line called Sorcerer King which I haven't tried yet, but it looks like an upgrade of FE:LH, could be interesting as well. However at present, FE:LH is still plagued by some serious bugs, some of which were introduced in a big update last year (see earlier threads), so I'd definitely advise you to get EL in any case. concentrating on your heroes, equipping them, leveling them and dominating battles with them, etc, FE:LH offers more variety. It has a better, deeper (somewhat Civ-like) economy/empire management than FE:LH.įor people such as Master of Magic or Age of Wonders fans, who may be more interested in the RPG aspect of such fantasy strategies - i.e. For a Civ fan, I'd say EL should be a lot more interesting.
